Code of Ethics
A Professional Marine Auditor must, at all
times, conduct his or her audits with the highest of integrity, being faithful
to the spirit as well as to the letter of the audit format utilized. It is the
responsibility of the Auditor to accurately convey the condition of the
vessel/structure audited, as well as the status of all personnel and
vessel/structure documentation, so that the party requesting the audit will have
full confidence that the auditor has honestly and thoroughly determined that the
vessel/structure will, or will not, meet the standards set forth in the audit
format. Furthermore, the Professional Marine Auditor must not allow any
situation to exist where a conflict of interest may arise which could cause any
of the parties to the audit to suspect that an honest, thorough audit cannot or
will not be accomplished.
